Crawford has acted for Travelodge for the last 5 years being instrumental in the development of the Quayside Travelodge in Newcastle and the St Peters Way Travelodge in Sunderland acting originally for the developer.
Having qualified in 1980 Crawford has over 25 years’ experience in the property market, the last 20 years or so in commercial property. Having headed up the retail agency department of a national practice covering the North of England for a period of 10 years Crawford established the Newcastle office of Smith Cole Wright in 1995. Trading initially as a retail and investment specialist the workload of the office has broadened its horizons and has considerable experience in the roadside market.
As well as Travelodge Crawford has acted for McDonalds Restaurants Ltd for over 15 years acquiring many of the original outlets in the North East and more latterly providing rent review and asset management advice.
Smith Cole Wright was established in 1995 providing offices in Newcastle and Glasgow covering the North/North East of England and Scotland.
The practice has 10 directors and staff acting for a range of retailers, leisure operators, developers, investors and occupiers offering expertise in the retail, investment and leisure markets.
The three main board directors have over 75 years’ collective experience in these markets during which time they have established longstanding relationships with a number of blue chip clients.
