In order to provide its customers with the very best hotel locations, Travelodge's new hotels usually form part of mixed - use developments.
Travelodge is the most flexible hotel operator in the UK, with the majority of the 7,000 bedrooms opened in the last 3 years being within mixed - use schemes. There are already Travelodge hotels sitting above or below a wide range of other users, including health and fitness, cinemas, general retail, bars, pubs and restaurants, doctors' surgeries, supermarkets, casinos, car parks, fast food, offices and residential, and we will happily consider sitting with any appropriate use. Where there is intrinsic, alternative use value at ground floor level, Travelodge will move its reception and back-of-house accommodation to the first floor and have a small lift lobby at ground floor level to maximise the investment value of the scheme for the developer.
In addition to new build opportunities, Travelodge will also accept conversions of existing office buildings, which can either form part of mixed use schemes (Southend-On-Sea, Nottingham) or standalone properties.
Travelodge is also flexible about car parking, being willing to share parking in suburban and roadside locations and accept no parking in town and city centres where there is public parking available overnight, within a safe and short walking distance of the hotel. Over 40 of our town and city centre hotels have no car parking on site.
Our Leasehold model is ideally suited to allow Travelodge to develop as part of mixed - use developments.
